When the NetDummy Editorial Team extended an invitation for us to submit our articles about better ways to promote our web sites, I just had to reply [since I have been called The King Of Shameless Self-Promotion]... I have been hanging out in Cyber Space, for about seven years now. Over the past seven years I have tried just about every gimmick there is in cyber space, short of paying for advertisements to promote your own web site. Some of the gimmicks worked, and some of them didn't work at all and so I thought that I would share with you all a few of the "FREE tricks" that I discovered, that are out in cyber space, all about how to promote your web site, for free, and get results... The first thing I found that worked well for me was to become a member of many news, poetry and art email lists, or groups. These e-mail lists, that any one can join, can be found at places like ListBot and eGroups [there are many other's that offer free e mail mailing lists services too] I joined many different art, poetry, travel, and news groups [or lists] and I've interacted on them all and the other folks on the lists became interested in my work, and went to my site, saw my product and contacted me about my work and so... there's one way to promote yourself, FREE. If you do not have an interest in art, poetry, travel or news, there are many other types of lists for you to consider joining, from business lists to single parent lists and on and on. Another thing that worked for me was to find other web sites that were basically into the same sort of thing I was, and since I am an artist, and poet, I wandered around from web site to web site, submitting my surreal computer art work to cyber art galleries, and my poetry to poetry web sites, who would of course send out newsletters, to their mailing lists, about my work being displayed, and then of course folks would go to their web sites and see my work, and then take the link to my own web site to see more of my work, and contact me about my work, and some even bought from me, and so there that is, another free way to promote your own web site. I could go on but since I have just about reached the word limit, I wanted to say another great way to promote your web site is to write articles like this one, and ask folks to stop by your web site like I am doing, so if you want to see what I do click here.
